Wiring LEDs and LED switchesUpdated 5 months ago
Wiring an LED
Wiring an LED is can be quite straight forward. There are 2 screws on the back, one screw can be wired in a continuous fashion with other LEDs, and ended at your common/neutral point. The other side is typically tied to the switch your intending to use, but can also be wired to the outlet where you perhaps have a 120v RIMs element attached.
Wiring an LED 2-way and 3-way switches
Wiring an LED is can be quite straight forward. There are 2 screws on the back, however when you combine the LED and switch function in to one unit, confusion has followed. The simplest answer I can give when handling the LED switch combo is, while the unit is one, remember that there are still 2 functions being performed. Therefore you must recognize and identify the different screw points, LEDs and the of course the contact blocks. One screw can still be wired in a continuous fashion with other LEDs, and ended at your common/neutral point (white wire). The other side is typically tied to the switch contact block, but can also be wired to the outlet where you perhaps have a 120v RIMs element attached.
